Accessing your library email remotely

Many NEKLS public libraries are now using Google Apps email for email access. While the link to your email has been bookmarked at your library, what’s the link to access your email from another computer or at another location?

You need to remember one part of a URL and you already know the other half of it.

  1. You need this text: http://mail.google.com/a/
  2. And you need the domain part of your email address — everything after the @ symbol.
    1. For example, my email is hbraum (at) nekls.org. My domain is nekls.org
  3. Using my example, then, the link for my Google Apps email access is http://mail.google.com/a/nekls.org
    1. http://mail.google.com/a/
    2. + nekls.org
    3. = http://mail.google.com/a/nekls.org
  4. One other example: the link for Carbondale City Library’s email access would be http://mail.google.com/a/carbondalecitylibrary.org
    1. http://mail.google.com/a/
    2. + carbondalecitylibrary.org
    3. = http://mail.google.com/a/carbondalecitylibrary.org
