The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Community Facilities program has approved $500,000 in funding for construction of a new building for the Horton Public Library. Funding will include a $200,000 grant and $300,000 loan for a project with a projected total cost of $800,000.

Although grant funds originally allocated to Kansas had already been fully committed, the USDA approved transfer of additional funding to support this project.  Congratulations to the Horton Public Library.
