Looking for Kansas Tax Publications and Forms?????

Stop looking!!! There is a reason why your library hasn’t received its usual bulk order form from the Kansas Department of Revenue: 2009 Kansas tax publications and forms will no longer be available at no charge in Kansas libraries. They won’t be available at U.S. Post Offices, either. Bulk supplies of instructions and forms will only be available if institutions choose to purchase them at a per-item cost. What does this mean for your library? How will you serve patrons who come to the library expecting to find the tax forms and publications they need, as they have in the past?

Before you panic, mark December 9, 2009 at 10 a.m. on your calendar and plan to participate in an hour-long online WIMBA session to explore the impacts of these changes on libraries and on individual tax filers. Join Carl York and Andy Coultis from the Kansas Department of Revenue and Laura DeBaun, NEKLS Business Manager and Library Services Consultant. The session will be offered through WebJunction Kansas, and facilitated by Cindi Hickey of the State Library. We will be posting and e-mailing the log-in  information and more details early next week.

By joining in on December 9th, you can insure that all your questions and concerns are addressed. The session  will have handouts and will be archived at WebJunction Kansas so that you and your staff can review the information at your convenience. Please contact Laura with any questions or concerns. Call 785-838-4090 or email her at ldebaun@nekls.org.
