The Northeast Kansas Library System supports convenient and equitable access to library resources for all residents of Northeast Kansas. The NEKLS resource sharing program includes:

  • A professional collection, that includes professional resources for librarians, including books and magazines, as well as loanable materials for library programs. Visit the professional collection page to learn more about this service.
  • NExpress, the shared online regional catalog that provides direct access to more than 500,000 books and other materials in the shared collections of 32 NEKLS libraries. Visit the NExpress project website and the online catalog to learn more about this service.
  • Kansas Library Express, the statewide interlibrary courier service that links more than 250 Kansas libraries. The courier service is managed by NEKLS, and is provided at significantly subsidized cost to more than 60 participating NEKLS libraries.   • The Kansas Library Catalog (KLC)/Agent statewide interlibrary loan service. NEKLS provides training for interlibrary loan (ILL) service. Visit the KLC online to learn more, or visit the Interlibrary Loan page to learn more about ILL training.
  • Promotion of the Talking Books service that provides audio Talking Books in tape and digital format for anyone unable to read regular print because of low vision, blindness, or a physical disability. Visit the Topeka Talking Books service website to learn more this service.
  • Participation in digital and online information services including research databases, online tutoring services, and downloadable audio books, music and ebooks.
