As you may have noticed, NEKLS launched our newly designed website today. The new site should better serve our members and provide quick access to information about the System.
A few key features:
- The slideshow at the top of the Home page highlights stories and news from our member libraries. If you would like your library’s news featured on our site, please contact a NEKLS staff member.
- The block of articles shown below the slideshow are important news posts.
- A quick preview of the 10 most recent articles written for the site display below the new posts.
The sidebars include multiple ways to access our most used resources, including the member directory, statewide services, and upcoming events. You can access the websites for other NEKLS-sponsored projects, such as My Kansas Library on the Web, through a sidebar, as well.
Events and posts have been organized on the new site for quick and easy access. You can see a listing of upcoming events, visit the Monthly Calendar, view posts about the type of article or event you are interested in and find articles categorized by Library Type – all from the far-right sidebar of the site. We are still migrating articles, so expect more events and articles every day!
Finally, the NEKLS tech blog is now incorporated into the NEKLS website to allow for one-stop-shopping for all of your information needs, so we incorporated the technology blog content. Technology is no longer a separate topic; it is now integrated into much of what libraries do. If you have an RSS subscription to the old technology blog, please change it to follow www.nekls.org. A reminder will also be posted on the old Tech Blog. In the coming weeks, we will announce a way for you to subscribe to only the technology-related posts and articles.
There will be some bumps as the site settles in and we would like to hear your feedback. If you run into bad links or outdated pages or you simply cannot find what you are looking for on the new site, please report your problem and we will try to get it resolved as quickly as possibly.
We hope the new site quickly, easily and completely fills your needs.

Great job–it looks terrific! Lots of good info; very easy to find
