The keynote, “Hanging on by Your Fingertips”, will be delivered by Kristin Fontichiaro, Clinical Assistant Professor and School Library Media Program Coordinator, University of Michigan:
School librarians’ jobs are getting harder. Whether you’re assigned additional responsibilities, additional buildings,or are simply trying to do more with less, we can sometimes feel like we are dangling over the ledge. As we ramp up to the new school year, let’s re-examine our priorities, swap efficiency strategies, and head into the new school year with a new sense of balance and purpose.
Anita Able, from the Shawnee Mission School District, will present on Professional Learning Communities. The Junior Library Guild will give a new book presentation. Breakout sessions will feature tech topics like Pinterest, State Library Resources, Open Education Resources, and hands-on with ereaders (and other goodies from the NEKLS tech “toy box”).
We hope you’ll join us for a fun and thought-provoking day.
