Crushed cases and damaged DVDs have been reported in courier shipments. The high volume of items sent between libraries requires careful packaging. Prevent damage to DVDs by careful packaging when shipping on Kansas Library Express.
- Ship DVDs or CDs in protective cases, not the hard plastic “jewel” cases supplied by retail outlets. Use a protective, padded case if possible.
- Enclose the DVD and protective case in cardboard, a padded envelope or bubble wrap before placing in a nylon shipping bag. The DVD album or case alone is not sufficient protection.
- Be sure to return all borrowed items in protective packaging. Nothing discourages lending faster than careless handling of media materials.
