Kids' ComputerIn the coming new year, the NEKLS Tech team will be posting a tech tips column each month, with three or four “technology” recommendations or tips. Hopefully you’ll like these tips as much as we do!

  1. KIDO’Z: KIDO’Z is an awesome web browser made just for kids. It brings together lots of kids-friendly websites, games, and videos into one safe place, all for kids! Winchester Public Library has it installed on all their patron computers, and the kids love it! Talk to Amy Lassiter for more information about her patrons’ experiences with it. Go to the KIDO’Z web site to install the software; you’ll need to download and install Adobe Air to run KIDO’Z.
  2. FeedMyInbox: Ever wanted to subscribe or follow a couple of blogs, but you never have time to learn or use an RSS Feed Reader? Check out FeedMyInbox. All you need to have is the URL of the blog or website you want to subscribe to and an email address. FeedMyInbox will email you new posts. No RSS Feed Reader required! See the How It Works page for more information.
  3. Lifehacker: There are numerous tech-related sites available for you to learn lots of technology tips, see technology recommendations, or discover new software. But for the NEKLS Tech Team, Lifehacker stands above them all. Lifehacker is “an award-winning daily blog that features tips, shortcuts, and downloads that help you get things done smarter and more efficiently” (their description). We usually discover at least one new tip, recommendation, or software each week on this website, usually more! Check it out today. It might even be the first blog you try out FeedMyInbox with.
