I took the NEKLS Tech Toy Box down to Emporia for the Summer Institute for School Librarians last week, and it was a resounding success. Many of you are familiar with the documents Sharon and I generally share at the Tech Toy Box events, but I thought I’d share the resources again for those who haven’t seen them. Also, I’m including a few additional resources I share with the school librarians and teachers I’ve presented the Tech Toy Box to.
- Tech Toy Box contents
- Tech Toy Box price list
- Free eBook resources (courtesy of Shari Schawo, TSCPL)
- Preparing your school for an iPad implementation [This list of questions is great for any school or organization considering large-scale deploy of any type of tablet or ereader or even laptops]
- What’s on my iPad? [List of apps on my iPad + educational iPad resources]
- Librarian Brings Kindles into the Classroom [links in there to helpful sources]
- Diving into Digital Books: Adding eReaders to Your School Library webinar. [archive and resources available]
- The Kindles Are Coming: Ereaders and tablets are springing up in schools—and librarians are leading the way
- Joyce Valenza Post: Very Kind Kindle support from Buffy Hamilton! (and on further celebrating our network)
- What do I do with five Kindles? [Doug Johnson's Blue Skunk Blog]
- Buffy Hamilton spoke at the NEKLS School Librarian Workshop in July 2011, slides for her presentation are available.
If anyone is interested, I blogged some of the sessions at Summer Institute on my professional blog. You can read the notes there:
