This year’s Spring Assembly will take place Thursday, April 16th, at the Kansas State Historical Society in Topeka. Each NEKLS member library must send their designated system representative or a proxy to vote at the System Business Meeting – to approve the new System Plan and Budget and to elect officers to the NEKLS Board.

Peggy Cadigan of the New Jersey State Library will deliver the keynote presentation, The Library of the Future: Current, Connected & Customer-Driven.  As Consultant for Innovation and Communication, Peggy is always on the lookout for opportunities, new technologies and partnerships that enable libraries to remain vital, current and competitive. She will share her vision of what Kansas libraries in the not-so-distant future might look like.

Afternoon breakout sessions include:

  • Listening to the Future: Readers’ Advisory and Audiobooks
Kaite Mediatore Stover, Head of Readers’ Services, KCPL
  • Talking Books = Endless Opportunity
Stephanie Hall, Red Carpet Talking Books Manager, TSCPL
  • Tough Times Never Last – So Jump on Opportunities!
Vikki Jo Stewart, retired SLK Special Projects Coordinator

Cost of the event is $15, and includes a continental breakfast and catered lunch. Sign up directly from the Event Registration link on this page or submit a registration form to NEKLS by April 14th.
