Trustee Certification records to be kept locally

Print This Post Print This Post

As you may know, due to staff cuts, the State Library had to transfer record keeping of Trustee Certification to local libraries back in February. Over 600 trustees are enrolled in the program from many Kansas libraries all over the state.

Shannon Roy at the State Library is happy to answer questions about the trustee records they are holding, and will send the records to any library that would like to see them. Call 785-296-2148 or e-mail shannon.roy@library.ks.gov

Individual trustees or libraries are now responsible for tracking trustee certification in Core Skill areas. Once the certification requirements are met, then the library should send the request for certification, along with documentation, to the State Library.

To summarize:

  • Trustee certification records need to be tracked and kept locally.
  • If individual trustee records are needed from the State Library, they need to be requested.
