We are delighted to welcome a familiar face back to NEKLS. Brenda Hough has rejoined the NEKLS staff in the role of Continuing Education Consultant. Brenda will coordinate all aspects of the NEKLS continuing education and and training program, and will also be part of the NExpress regional catalog team.
Brenda started her professional library career as a reference librarian in her home state of Minnesota. She then joined the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s US Library Program and spent several years as a trainer and staff development coordinator. She first joined the team at NEKLS in 2005 as Technology Consultant, a position she held until April, 2008. After a year as a virtual librarian, working on the TechSoup for Libraries project (formerly known as MaintainIT), she returned to NEKLS in her new position.
Brenda lives in Lawrence with her husband, four cats, a dog, and a lizard. She doesn’t really like having a lizard in the house, but he’s old, slow, and stays in his terrarium.
