NEKLS Spring Assembly 2010 will take place Thursday, April 22nd, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the Holiday Inn in Lawrence. The theme of the day is Connection to Community.
Jo Budler, the new Kansas State Librarian, will deliver the keynote address, The Library: An Essential Community Service.
Other highlights of this year’s program:
- A presentation by Richard Wood, author of Survival of Rural America: Small Victories and Bitter Harvests, a 2009 Kansas Notable Book.
- Breakouts sessions by library directors Royce Kitts (Tonganoxie) and Diane Trinkle (Nortonville) on advocacy and youth services.
- The System Business Meeting and Election of Officers.
