Our 2023 Teen Workshop for Library Staff will feature the successful teen program of Derby (KS) Public Library. Teens are a special type of library creature! They need their own set of rules. Derby Public Library has a long history of successful summer teen volunteer programs. Attendees will learn about the unique opportunities Derby offers its teens for summer, as well as methods of organizing a volunteer program and how you can make teens a vital part of your library’s summer reading program. We will also explore other summer activities for teens and tweens.
Our presenters are Alyssa LaRue, Teen and Adult Services Coordinator for Derby Public Library, and Hannah Adamson, the Youth Services Coordinator at Derby Public Library.
