Copyright Basics workshop at NEKLS
10 AM – 2 PM (lunch on-site)

 This workshop will be aimed at the concerns and needs of NEKLS public libraries, especially those starting a digital collection. Chris will review essential copyright law as it applies to libraries. Specific topics will include applications of fair use, Section 108 (Library copying, preservation, and ILL),  public performance, use of videos, Creative Commons and the Google Book project. The instructor, Chris LeBeau, is an Assistant Teaching Professor for the School of Information Science & Learning Technologies at the University of Missouri and the Reference and Instruction Librarian for Business and Public Administration for the University of Missouri-Kansas City Miller Nichols Library.
