Dr. Alan Bearman, Academic At-Large Representative
Dr. Alan Bearman is a Professor of History at Washburn University, where he has also led the University Libraries since January, 2008. In 2011, Bearman oversaw the merger of the University Libraries with the Center for Student Success and Retention. Information Literacy is the key student learning outcome of Washburn’s First-Year Experience programming. Dr. Bearman’s tenure has seen a period of tremendous growth in the use of the Library and Academic Success services and increases in student success and retention.
