The 6​ by ​6 Family Reading Workshop, held at the Bonner Springs City Library on 3/24, was a HUGE success! We started at 5:30pm with 45 in attendance, including families from the USD204 Parents as Teachers group, as well as a good number of our own patrons. “6​ by ​6” refers to 6 skills that parents can teach their children by age 6, which will help make them better readers. Our presenter, Anna Foote, helped to develop this program while she worked in the Johnson County Library system, ​and ​later, while working at the State Library of Kansas, she helped to implement these skills throughout Kansas libraries.
