Thank you to everyone who submitted to Capture the Color in June. With over 30 entries to choose from, our NEKLS judges had a tough time selecting the winners.
We know June is an especially demanding time for library staff, with summer reading programs in full swing. I’ve seen firsthand how much heart and soul goes into this annual effort—and that spirit comes through in these photos. Each image is a testament to your work: a vivid representation of the energy, creativity, and care that defined June 2025 in our libraries. I deeply appreciate your submissions. They’re what make this contest possible and keep our visual storytelling vibrant and alive.
Please visit our Flickr page to see all of the submissions. We’re thankful to everyone who captured moments, chose their favorites, and sent them to NEKLS.
These images help us tell the bigger story. In the months and years ahead we’ll be drawing from this gallery as we illustrate the impact of libraries in their communities and spotlight the work you do year-round.
The contest runs again in July, please submit up to three photos (per member public library) by July 31st to dalexander@nekls.org.
