Libraries Rock!

Join NEKLS staff, and your colleagues from across the region, for a day of sharing and fun! NEKLS Summer Reading Workshop will happen at Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library on Friday, March 2, 2018.

  • 8:30 – Sign in begins
  • 9:00 – Workshop begins
  • 3:30 – Prize drawings – you must be present to win!

Participants are encouraged to bring favorite ideas from the CSLP manual and/or theme-related ideas to share.

$10 includes lunch and snacks through the day, plus tons of great content!

Who:

Libraries Rock! Our national presenter this year is Kim Lehman, a musician and educator from Austin, TX. Kim is best known for her dynamic, idea packed workshops featuring easy to implement activities for librarians, teachers and parents. Over the years, Kim has worked with the Texas State Library and Archives Commission presenting workshops and webinars, producing forty videos with ideas for the Summer Reading Program.

Teens Rock! Tracey DeShazo and Nikki Womack of Silver Lake Public Library will share ideas on rocking your 2018 teen summer reading program.

Families Rock! Sarah Niileksela is a music therapist with Sunflower Music Therapy, based in Lawrence. She will share ideas on enhancing family programming with music.
