All—

I’m very excited to announce the newest members of the NEKLS team!!

Michael McDonald will be joining us as the Library Development Consultant, starting on July 27th.  As the Director of the Lansing Library, Mike has been an active member of NEKLS since July 2013.  His experience in the public library sector is enhanced by extensive background with academic institutions, the Northeast Kansas Library Foundation and planning giving development.  His experience in helping to create a culture of philanthropy will be extremely useful for all types of NEKLS library members.

Anna Foote is joining the NEKLS staff on July 8th.   Her work at the Kansas State Library since 2012 has brought her in contact with NEKLS libraries with projects such as 6×6.  Coming with a strong background in children’s and youth services, Anna will be expanding NEKLS services in these areas for public and school library members.  Her official title will be Children’s Services and Continuing Education Support.

Dorinda Benton has just completed a month at NEKLS as Business Manager.  Her last position of ten years, was with Equus Beds Groundwater Management District No. 2 out of Halstead Kansas, as their Administrative Assistant.  For more detail, check out an earlier post on the Northeast Kansas Library System website and Facebook page.

While mentioning new faces, I need to acknowledge two other individuals and thank them for their hard work and participation with the NEKLS team.  Ryan Sipes and Bridget Clifford have chosen to pursue other opportunities, effective on June 30th, and we wish them all the best.

Finally, we are currently looking for a Technical Support Technician.  This position will increase our presence in NEKLS libraries for technical support.  More information about the position can be found on our website and Facebook page.  Spread the word!

Our Annual System Meeting is August 13th at the Ramada Inn, 420 SE 6th St., Topeka, KS.  Each NEKLS member will have their System Representative voting on new Executive Board members and the 2016 System budget.  This will also be your first opportunity to meeting everyone on the NEKLS staff.

We look forward to seeing you in Topeka on August 13th!

Laura
