As of November, we still had one spot left to fill for our 2018 NEKLS staff roster. That position was filled during the quiet weeks of December–after Christmas our newest staff member, Lisa Miller, joined our ranks as the NEKLS Financial Manager. Here’s more about Lisa, in her own words:
I have lived in Lawrence for over 16 years. My husband and I have two grown children and we all enjoy traveling together. We have visited Costa Rica, Canada, Mount Rushmore, Las Vegas and many other places. I have a Bachelor’s degree from Emporia State University and have been in the accounting field for over 20 years. I am a beginner at knitting, tatting and weaving. I also enjoy golf – well, maybe I shouldn’t call it golf…it’s more like a nice walk on a golf course.
By now you are familiar with the Pivot Questionnaire (below), the 10 questions originally came from a French series, hosted by Bernard Pivot, but they’re probably better known as the questions that James Lipton asked guests on “Inside the Actor’s Studio”.
James Lipton: What is your favorite word?
Lisa Miller: Lunch!
JL: What is your least favorite word?
LM: Dismal
JL: What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
LM: Music – it can really lift my spirits
JL: What turns you off?
LM: Bad drivers
JL: What is your favorite curse word?
LM: #@*!!
JL: What sound or noise do you love?
LM: A stream or babbling brook
JL: What sound or noise do you hate?
LM: Fingernails on a chalkboard – that really makes my skin crawl!
JL: What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
LM: Florist – I think it would be fun to brighten other peoples’ days with flowers
JL: What profession would you not like to do?
LM: Crab fisherman
JL: If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
LM: “Come on in!”
