The NEKLS popcorn machine has a new kid sister! In response to requests from librarians, we’ve added a cotton candy machine to our line-up of special events equipment available for loan – at no cost – to NEKLS member libraries.
It will be the responsibility of each borrowing library to transport the machine. The sugar receptacle lifts off, so the machine easily fits in the back of a minivan.
We’ll send along an instruction booklet that details how to use the machine and clean up afterwards. NEKLS will supply paper cones on a cost-recovery basis (about 3 cents each). You can purchase special “flossing sugar” to use in this machine, but regular granulated sugar can also be used, with KoolAid powder added for flavor and color. Other ingredients might damage the machine, so please don’t experiment!
Like our popcorn and sno-cone machines, the new cotton candy machine can be reserved by contacting Teri at the NEKLS office. Demand is heaviest during summer reading season. If you have a special date in mind, be sure to plan ahead.
